The Senior Business Analyst is a critical role responsible for leading the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements across the project lifecycle. Operating within a lending business, undergoing a significant digital and operational transformation, you will ensure that initiatives are aligned with strategic goals, are scoped effectively, and deliver measurable outcomes.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, translating them into operational improvements and robust technical solutions. This role requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional stakeholder engagement, and the ability to communicate clearly across both business and technical audiences.
Key focus:
The organisation is currently undertaking a significant upgrade to its lending platform. The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in shaping and delivering these initiatives, including process optimisation and system enhancements.
Strong domain expertise in lending is essential. This includes a solid understanding of the full loan lifecycle:
* Loan Origination
* Credit Assessment
* Servicing
* Collections processes
Experience would ideally span a range of financial products, such as mortgages, auto finance, commercial real estate loans, personal loans, and credit cards.
You should be comfortable translating complex financial requirements into system capabilities, working with data models, and supporting workflows for credit decisioning, regulatory compliance, and customer lifecycle management. Familiarity with lending platforms and loan management systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the elicitation, documentation, validation, and management of business and functional requirements.
* Conduct requirements and scope reviews to ensure alignment with business goals.
* Track and manage changes to requirements and scope throughout the project lifecycle.
* Validate requirements and ensure traceability from initiation through to delivery.
* Perform gap and change analysis to support strategic decision-making and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Process Design and Improvement
* Document current state processes and design future state processes using BPMN standards and agreed tooling.
* Evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance operational efficiency.
* Support the adoption of emerging technologies by identifying relevant use cases.
* Maintain all documentation in accordance with organisational standards and frameworks.
Solution Assessment and Vendor Engagement
* Conduct solution assessments and compare proposed options against defined criteria.
* Support the vendor selection processes, including establishing evaluation criteria and reviewing proposals to form recommendations.
* Collaborate with business and project teams to assess vendor capabilities and alignment with business needs.
* Analyse market trends and perform needs assessments to inform solution design and investment decisions.
