Heidelberg Materials has a rewarding full-time opportunity for Quarry Operator to join the team at Central Coast Sands Quarry, located in Somersby, just outside of Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.
We are seeking applicants who have a passion for safety and value a strong work ethic, as well as being willing and able to work a varied role along with general maintenance duties.
This is a full-time, day shift position with a 5-week rotating roster. Most shifts start at 5.45am, and a half‑day Saturday may be required depending on business needs.
We're ideally after someone with experience operating machinery like front‑end loaders, dump trucks, or excavators, but if you're new to the industry and bring a strong work ethic and a great attitude, we're happy to provide training and support to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Plant Operations: Operate machinery such as Excavators, Dump Trucks, Front End Loader & other Fixed plant equipment.
- Machine Maintenance : Conduct daily maintenance checks, including oil levels and greasing.
- Clean & Tidy Equipment : Ensure the machine is kept clean and well‑organised at all times.
- Assist with other site duties as needed such as fixed plant maintenance.
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and quality standards.
- A current valid Open or Provisional Australian Drivers Licence (essential).
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team.
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strict adherence to fixed and mobile plant pre‑start & maintenance procedures.
- Great communication skills including the ability to understand and follow clear instructions.
- Professional work ethic with a "can do" attitude.
- Medical Check : Able to pass a pre‑employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg sites).
- Safety : Some of our machines have operator weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may need to be under a specified weight.
