An elderly gentleman living in Kelso is seeking a reliable and respectful Personal Assistant to provide support with personal care in his own home.
The gentleman has Parkinson's and is looking for someone who can provide calm, patient and dignified assistance with his shower routine twice per week.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* Provide shower assistance twice per week (45 minutes per visit)
* Offer steady, unhurried support in line with the gentleman's mobility needs
* Promote safety and wellbeing at all times
* Respect dignity, privacy and independence
* Develop a positive and supportive working relationship
Person SpecificationPersonal Attributes
* Warm, patient and understanding
* Reliable and trustworthy
* Calm and attentive
* Able to work independently and follow guidance
Skills & Experience
* Experience supporting someone with mobility needs or Parkinson's would be beneficial
* However, experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal qualities
Terms
* Hours: 1.5 hours per week
* Working Pattern: Ideally Tuesdays and Fridays at around 9:00am (some flexibility available)
* Rate of Pay: £13.20 per hour
* Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
* Probationary Period: 6 months
* Appointment: Subject to references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check
