About the Role
We currently have a new opportunity available for an enthusiastic Health, Safety and Training Advisor at our regional office, located in Whitsunday Region - Queensland.
This newly created Health, Safety & Training Advisor role reports to the Senior Health and Safety Advisor supporting the Health, Safety and Training functions. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly are key to your success.
Working an 8/6 roster, your main responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
1. Champion health, safety, environment, and training initiatives across the region.
2. Support investigations, audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
3. Assist in delivering training programs and maintaining compliance through the Learning Management System (LMS).
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of Safety and Environmental Management Plans.
5. Support rehabilitation, return-to-work programs, and employee health plans.
6. Maintain strong relationships with regional teams, clients, contractors, and the local community.
7. Deliver accurate reporting and support the business in achieving legislative compliance and operational excellence.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in HSET or equivalent experience, plus:
* Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain)
* Cert IV in Training and Assessing (or willingness to obtain)
* Supervisor training (QMS1,2,3)
* Accredited Drug & Alcohol Tester (or willingness to obtain)
* Current Surface Generic Induction
* Proven HSET experience in local government (essential).
* Strong understanding of QLD Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
* Skilled in incident investigation, auditing, risk management, coaching and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident in preparing training and compliance documentation.
