Mobile Plant Maintenance Manager

ConsMin are a leading manganese mining company located in the WA Pilbara region, approximately 407 km south‑east of Port Hedland. We operate the Woodie Woodie operation and maintain a mining fleet consisting of Hitachi (EX3600) and Caterpillar (6020) excavators, dump trucks, and ancillary equipment.
The Mobile Plant Maintenance Manager will report to the General Manager – Operations and will lead cultural and operational transformation within the maintenance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose cultural and operational gaps within the maintenance team and lead initiatives to build a proactive, accountable, high‑performing culture.
* Develop compelling cases for change, overcome resistance, and energize teams with a clear vision.
* Deliver measurable cost savings while maintaining safety, quality and operational excellence.
* Redefine maintenance structures and skill sets, applying Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
* Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
* Lead change management initiatives, redesigning and embedding improved ways of working to achieve sustainable performance outcomes.
* Take accountability for results through clear, execution‑focused KPIs, including availability, reliability, and schedule compliance.
* Move the organisation beyond reactive maintenance by implementing robust work‑management practices and balancing long‑term strategy with day‑to‑day needs.
* Reframe maintenance as a value‑generating function, actively contributing to site profitability.
Requirements
* Essential experience in an owner‑operator environment within mining or heavy industry.
* Proven experience in diagnosing cultural gaps and driving meaningful change, ideally with formal training or experience in change management.
* Demonstrated experience delivering verified savings in a safety and quality conscious environment.
* Deep understanding of maintenance principles, cost drivers and organisational design.
* Experience with major change initiatives, including new processes or technology roll‑outs.
* Data‑driven decision‑making with a bias for action and ability to link cultural shifts to measurable outcomes.
* Understanding and exposure to RCM principles and the ability to support major change initiatives.
* Minimum C‑class driver's licence.
* Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
* Strong commitment to following health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
