Merchandise Manager – Absorbency & Grocery

We're seeking a standalone Merchandise Manager to own the end to end merchandise lifecycle for the Grocery Channel and Absorbency category. This role does not have any direct reports and is suited to a commercially sharp individual contributor who thrives on accountability, autonomy and impact.
Please note; This is a fixed term contract position for 12 months.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Merchandise, you will be fully accountable for developing and executing profitable, customer led wholesale and retail ranges. You'll lead category strategy, pricing architecture and product lifecycle decisions, partnering closely with Planning, Design, Supply, Marketing and Wholesale teams to deliver sales, margin and stock efficiency outcomes.
This is a hands on role for a strong commercial thinker who loves product, thrives in fast-paced environments and is confident making data-led decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Own end to end wholesale and Retail range planning and category architecture, including pricing and mix strategy
* Develop seasonal and ongoing assortments aligned to customer needs, channel strategy and financial targets
* Lead Go To Market planning, calendars and cross functional alignment
* Partner with Merchandise Planning to ensure ranging, phasing and quantification decisions are data led
* Manage product lifecycle, including new product introductions, SKU rationalisation and exit strategies
* Analyse in season and post season performance to drive continuous improvement
* Assess commercial feasibility and demand prior to final range sign off
* Identify opportunities to improve range efficiency, ROI and stock productivity
What You'll Bring
* 2–3+ years' experience owning a merchandise or product category end to end
* Proven background in wholesale and / or FMCG environments
* Strong commercial acumen with confidence in pricing, margin and cost management
* Advanced analytical capability and comfort working with sales, margin and stock data
* Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
* Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomouslyAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
* Tertiary qualifications in Business or a related discipline (desirable)
