Overview

This organisation is a growing Australian engineering and services business focused on delivering solutions for some of Australia's most essential industry. With multiple specialist divisions operating across energy, waste, air and engineered systems, the business services a broad range of industrial clients. Continued growth has created the need to strengthen procurement capability across the group.

Role

Reporting to the CFO, this Procurement Lead position is responsible for bringing structure, consistency and commercial discipline across a decentralised operating model. You will take ownership of sourcing strategy, supplier management and procurement governance, while partnering closely with operational and project teams.

* Establishing and embedding procurement policies and processes
* Driving supplier rationalisation and leveraging group-wide spend
* Leading sourcing activity and negotiating commercial outcomes
* Supporting project teams to improve pricing certainty from tender through delivery
* Providing oversight of inventory to reduce excess and improve working capital
* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across engineering and operations

This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating in a developing procurement environment, where influence and practicality are key.

What you'll need to succeed
* Proven procurement experience within manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments
* Ability to operate autonomously and build procurement capability in a greenfield or evolving setting
* Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience negotiating supplier agreements
* Experience partnering with technical stakeholders such as engineers or project managers
* Exposure to inventory management and working capital improvement
* Ability to manage multiple priorities across different business units
* ERP exposure (e.g. NetSuite or similar) is advantageous
