About the Opportunity
The Oral Health Team at South Western Sydney Local Health District are recruiting for enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Assistants to join the team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about high quality oral health care has communication skills to be able to build rapport with clients to promote positive health outcomes. The role is focused around ensuring excellence in quality patient centred care and you will be able to easily involve the patients and their families/carers in safe oral health practices.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme
This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Retention incentive under the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, paid on a fortnightly basis.
The Attraction incentive for this position equates to:
- An Allowance of up to $5,000 in total for the first 12 months of your employment as successful candidate to this position.
- A Retention incentive of up to $5,000 in total may be offered thereafter annually (dependent on position continuing to meet scheme and policy criteria).
Employees are responsible to understand the criteria of accepting and retaining the incentives paid and are recommended to seek financial advice prior to accepting an Attraction or Retention payment as part of their employment.

What You'll be Doing
The Dental Assistant will undertake a full range of dental assistant duties providing clinical support and assisting with the efficient delivery of a high quality Oral Health service to eligible clients within South Western Sydney Local Health District.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent Dental Assistant qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to service performance and accountability in a Community Oral Health setting including competence in electronic oral health record and Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, team work and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Oral Health Service policies and procedures.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
