Ingenia Gardens Sovereign is a secure, over‑55s rental community in Ballarat offering low‑maintenance, fully supported independent living with on‑site activities, services and gated peace of mind.
Position Overview
We're on the lookout for a part‑time Senior Cook to join our team at the Sovereign Gardens site, reporting to the Community Manager. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality meals and exceptional dining experiences for our residents and guests while keeping food preparation areas safe, clean and compliant.

In This Role, You'll
* Manage Food Operations: Oversee ordering, inventory and stock control; ensure timely receival and maintain kitchen budget within approved limits.
* Deliver Quality Meals: Prepare and serve high‑standard meals that meet resident expectations while minimising waste.
* Maintain Compliance: Develop menus, uphold food safety standards, and act as the site's Food Safety Supervisor.
* Ensure Cleanliness: Clean and sanitise kitchen, dining areas, equipment and community building facilities to required standards.
* Monitor Safety & Quality: Verify critical temperature limits for food storage and service, ensuring compliance and resident satisfaction.

* Build strong relationships – Actively foster positive, professional connections with the Community Manager, Operations Manager and residents while maintaining confidentiality.
* Show genuine care and empathy – Communicate with residents respectfully and compassionately, ensuring their needs met while upholding professional standards.
* Maintain clear boundaries – Keep internal matters confidential and refer all non‑catering resident or external inquiries to the Community Manager for consistent service quality.
* Collaborate effectively – Work as a proactive team player, treating colleagues with respect, contributing ideas for improvement and supporting a positive team environment.
* Prioritise safety and compliance – Follow WHS policies, complete required training, handle chemicals safely and adhere to food safety standards and accreditation requirements.
