The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Project Design Manager to join our Queensland Commercial Construction team offering the opportunity to lead high-profile, large-scale commercial construction projects across Southeast Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and/or oversee end-to-end electrical design and documentation for major commercial construction projects.
* Provide technical leadership and support throughout the design and delivery phases.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers to support professional development and technical excellence.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary project coordination throughout the tender, design, and construction lifecycle.
* Manage and direct the digital engineering team to support best-practice BIM and digital design standards.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety legislation, and quality standards.
What You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
* Strong leadership and people-management skills with a collaborative mindset.
* Proven experience delivering electrical designs for large-scale commercial construction projects.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and structural multidisciplinary drawings.
* Excellent project coordination skills including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting (Gantt charts, timelines, etc.).
* Hands-on knowledge of testing and commissioning of major LV electrical infrastructure (with HV, SCADA, solar, diesel generation, and ITS highly desirable).
* Proficiency in cost estimation and value engineering to optimise design outcomes.
* Deep knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, and sustainable construction practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
