About the Engagement:
* Commencement: 15th November 2025
* Contract length: 8 weeks, with strong potential for extension

Role Focus – Medical & Surgical Nursing
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care across busy medical and surgical wards. These roles require:
* Proven skills in cannulation and venipuncture
* Recent acute hospital experience
* A commitment to best practice and collaborative care

Ward Overview
C Ward – Surgical, Maternity & Acute/Non-Acute
* Staffing: 3 staff Early | 2 staff Late | 2 staff Night. RNs act as in charge when working with an EN.
* Surgical: Orthopaedics (joint replacements, ACL repairs, arthroscopies), General Surgery (lap hernia repair, cholecystectomy), Urology (TURBT, TURP), Gynaecology (laparoscopic & open hysterectomies), ENT (tonsillectomy, FESS), occasional Dental/Eye post-op care.
* Maternity: Midwifery Group Practice manages intrapartum & immediate postnatal care (4hrs post-birth). Ongoing care transferred to ward nurses with midwife support on-call.
* Acute/Non-Acute: Post-convalescent step-down from tertiary hospitals, non-acute awaiting TCP or aged care placement, and palliative patients with support from specialist palliative care team.
A Ward – Multidisciplinary
* Paediatrics (0–14): General care (IV antibiotics, febrile illness, post-ictal care), ENT (monthly tonsillectomy lists), situational/behavioural crises.
* Mental Health: Depression, anxiety, DV support, situational crisis, ITO patients requiring 1:1 observation while awaiting transfer.
* Monitored Beds (x4): Cardiac monitoring, respiratory illness, trauma, PE, post-theatre recovery, awaiting transfer.
* Acute/Non-Acute: Acute medical (COPD, sepsis, cardiac, diabetes, respiratory illness), transfers from metro hospitals, non-acute long-stay patients (aged care/NDIS pending).
* Palliative Care (x2 suites): Dedicated end-of-life care with 24/7 support, plus symptom management prior to discharge.

Requirements:
* Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum 2 years' recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
* Sunrise EMR training (must be completed prior to commencement)
