The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a portfolio of capital and sustaining projects within a large-scale mining operation. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, working across project scoping, engineering coordination, construction support, and stakeholder management to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project outcomes.
What the Role Entails
* Support the development of project scopes, execution plans, schedules, and cost estimates for mechanical and civil works.
* Coordinate mechanical and civil engineering inputs across project phases, from concept and feasibility through to execution and close-out.
* Review and manage engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, datasheets, and vendor submissions.
* Provide technical input into constructability reviews, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
* Liaise closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment with site requirements.
* Support onsite construction activities, including inspections, QA/QC verification, resolving technical queries, and managing change.
* Monitor project progress, safety, quality, and cost performance, escalating risks and issues as required.
* Ensure all project activities comply with Australian Standards, site engineering specifications, and safety requirements.
What You Will Need
* Degree-qualified Mechanical or Civil Engineer.
* Experience delivering mechanical and/or civil projects from the client side in a mining, heavy industry, or infrastructure environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical plant, structural and civil works, materials handling systems, foundations, earthworks, and associated infrastructure.
* Proven ability to coordinate contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams in an operational environment.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Practical, solutions-focused mindset with a strong commitment to safety and project outcomes.
