Job Description
What you'll be doing
We are seeking a Psychosocial Support Worker to deliver high-quality mental health and wellbeing support as part of the Partners in Wellbeing (PIW) program.
In this role, you will:
* Client support (16+): Help clients identify distress, clarify thoughts and goals, and build insight.
* Flexible delivery: Provide time‐limited, outcome‐focused support via Telehealth and onsite sessions.
* Practical assistance: Support clients to access community services, including NDIS, housing, and dual‐diagnosis pathways.
* Recovery planning: Use a Recovery‐oriented, strengths‐based approach to create and review action plans with clients and their supports.
* Service collaboration: Work with Area Mental Health Services and other providers to develop wellbeing and risk plans.
* Family violence frameworks: Apply MARAM, FVISS, and CISS when supporting clients impacted by family violence.
* Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with carers, peers, and community networks.
Please note: This role is not associated with the NDIS – you'll be supporting clients with psychosocial needs through community-based and clinical mental health pathways.
Who we're looking for
As a Psychosocial Support Worker, you bring experience working with a dedicated mental health caseload and understand the needs of clients with complex psychosocial support requirements.
You will also have:
* Experience working across mental health and/or AOD sectors and a strong foundation in the Social Model of Health.
* Experience working within relevant frameworks including MARAM, FVISS, and CISS.
* Understanding of dual‐disability, dual‐diagnosis, and hard‐to‐reach client groups.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
* Solid written, verbal, and digital communication skills for record‐keeping and client engagement.
* A commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice, and learning through supervision and feedback.
Qualifications
* Diploma level Tertiary qualification(s) in mental health, community health, or a related field
