Assistant Store Manager - Hommey | Rundle Street, Adelaide | Full-Time
You're not a leader in waiting. You're a leader right now.
Not when the Store Manager is away. Not when the moment calls for it. Every day you walk through the door, you bring your own energy, your own conviction, and your own standard - and the team feels the difference.
That's who we're looking for.
About Us
Born in 2021 with a simple cushion and a big dream, Hommey is revolutionising the homeware industry. We believe creating an aspirational, top-quality brand doesn't have to break the bank - and we're proving it. Our mission is to help people craft a home that truly reflects who they are, without compromise. We're a team committed to making ethical, sustainable choices, and we're doing better for our planet and our people every day. We're just getting started.
The Role
This is a new position at our Rundle Street store - and it's a genuine leadership role, not a second-in-charge title. You'll work in close partnership with the Store Manager, bringing their direction to life with real ownership and making it better through how you lead.
It's also your proving ground. Every decision you make, every person you develop, every shift you lead is building the Store Manager you're becoming. You're not waiting for that opportunity. You're creating it.
Day to day, you'll be:
* Setting the standard on the floor through your own behaviour - demonstrating what great looks like, not just describing it
* Coaching the team in the moment, giving feedback that's specific, developmental and timely
* Owning the onboarding of new team members and helping them understand what success looks like from day one
* Running daily briefings with confidence and conviction - starting every shift with energy, focus and clarity
* Managing stock with precision, understanding that every gap on the floor is a missed conversation with a customer
* Making independent decisions with commercial intelligence, knowing when to escape and bringing a recommended course of action when you do
* Nurturing local community relationships and connecting Hommey to the people around us
* Being the Store Manager's most valuable source of real-time floor intelligence
Sunday to Thursday roster. Full-time preferred - part-time considered for the right person (minimum 4 days, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are fixed).
Who We're Looking For
You don't need the Store Manager present to hold the standard. Because the standard is yours.
You're the right fit if you:
* Have experience in a customer-facing retail or service environment with a track record of high performance
* Have led or coached others and found genuine satisfaction in watching someone grow
* Communicate with clarity and warmth - whether you're running a briefing, having a hard conversation, or giving feedback upward
* Make confident decisions at the moment and know the difference between what you can own and what needs to be escalated
* Are genuinely curious about homes, interiors and the world Hommey creates - this isn't just a category to you
And the non-negotiables - you treat this role as a proving ground, not a holding pattern. You see every day as a chance to build the leader you're becoming. And you bring your own conviction to every shift, not a version of someone else's.
What's on Offer
* A new role you can genuinely shape from day one
* A brand that thinks differently and keeps growing
* Real investment in your development - this role is designed to build the next Store Manager
* Sunday to Thursday roster - weekends with a purpose
* Rundle Street location in the heart of Adelaide
This role was written for someone specific.
