Delivery Managers unblock issues, support the delivery team, and monitor and improve performance of the team. They use agile methodologies, learning and iterating the product and processes frequently to meet user needs. They work with Product Managers to define the roadmap for products and services, remove blockers and support the delivery team so that they can maintain delivery throughput.
The Delivery Manager will be responsible for working with the Program Executive, broader program team and stakeholders in various technical and non-technical areas of our business to ensure we have effective project and program discipline to manage the TSP.
This will include working closely with Project and Stream Leads, Project Managers and Stakeholders to ensure projects are clearly scoped, align with the strategic direction of the agency and are completed in accordance with the project schedules, with performance measured against a clear performance measurement baseline.
The Delivery Manager will also be responsible for ensuring an orderly and timely disengagement under the existing Managed Telecommunications Services (MTS) contract, ensuring adherence with the disengagement under the existing Managed Telecommunications Services (MTS) contract, ensuring adherence with the disengagement principles within the MTS extension.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Under the direction of the Program Executive, set the prioritisation required to inform and implement delivery of the (TSP).
* Work collaboratively with Project Leads, Project Managers and Schedulers to build and implement a Performance Measurement Baseline with periodic reporting.
* Work collaboratively with Project Leads and Project Managers to ensure timely and orderly implementation of new capability and disengagement of current services in accordance with the Program Schedule.
* Work collaboratively with the Programme Management Office to support the management of project deliverables and compliance with organisational expectations. Identify and manage project interdependencies and wider agency dependencies, which may include development of a dependencies management plan.
* Prepare a range of written material as required, including various reports, executive papers, Senate Estimates Submissions, Ministerial and Agency briefs.
* Form, lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on maximising their contribution to program and project delivery through a shared vision.
* Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, engaging in frequent liaison and negotiation activities.
* Strong cybersecurity background is required to plan and deliver cyber deliverables for a significant and sensitive program of work.
* Experience delivering telecommunications uplift projects with a cyber lens.
* Experience managing large, multi-year programs of work for major organisations.
* Demonstrated commercial aptitude is required to negotiate deliverables and expectations with multiple vendors.
* Highly developed communication skills and experience communicating with influence across all levels of the APS to achieve a desired outcome.
* Ability to develop integrated delivery documents aligned to business, technology and vendor project schedules.
* Ability to schedule and facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholder groups at various levels across the APS and private enterprise.
Essential criteria
1.Working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), PSPF (PSPF) and Essential Eight (E8).
2.Project Management
Contract: 12 Month Contract with up to 24 months extensions
Security Required: NV1 Security Clearance required
Location- Canberra based - Hybrid option available- First 6 weeks will be office based.
