This role is the Content Design Manager, leading the content design stream of RAC's Digital Experience Program.
This is a 12‐month maximum term contract on a full‐time basis (0.8FTE/4 days will be considered for the right candidate). The role will work across Website Performance, Digital Products, Marketing and Product teams to deliver a more intuitive, scalable and effective digital experience while building the content foundations required to support RAC's future digital ecosystem.
Responsibilities
* Leading cross‐functional stakeholder engagement to build alignment, drive adoption of an enterprise approach to content, and embed content best practices across teams.
* Developing governance and guidance models, supporting the Web Performance Team and stakeholders with frameworks, training, and content standards.
* Collaborating with UX and SEO roles to enhance content structure, usability, accessibility, and search visibility—transforming disjointed pages into connected experiences.
* Serving as the strategic content partner to marketing, service, and digital teams—translating business priorities into clear, actionable content briefs.
* Articulating the strategic role of content in achieving RAC's Group and Digital Experience Strategy, and championing its impact on member experience and brand trust.
* Defining and executing content strategies across the full member journey, focusing on mid‐to‐lower funnel optimisation for acquisition, retention, and conversion.
* Mapping and optimising customer journeys by identifying content gaps, validating plans with research, and designing persuasive content aligned to key stages.
* Setting clear direction for content teams, providing briefs, guidance and frameworks that drive efficient, high‐performing content delivery.
* Developing reusable narratives and assets to deliver scalable, brand‐aligned content across digital channels, including micro‐interactions and social impact messaging.
* Monitoring and optimising content performance, leveraging insights from surveys, dashboards, and research to continuously improve engagement and outcomes.
* Benchmarking and reporting content impact, contributing to regular performance reviews, presenting insights, and refining strategic direction based on data.
* Supporting campaign and publishing activity, by reviewing digital content, advising on structure and SEO, and contributing to CMS optimisation and campaign integration.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in content design, digital content planning, production, and management.
* Strong technical knowledge across SEO, UX, information architecture, digital copywriting, analytics, and content management systems (including Headless CMS).
* Proven ability to combine creativity and analysis to develop high‐quality, user‐centric content that delivers measurable business outcomes.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders and building trusted partnerships.
* Well‐developed prioritisation and time‐management skills, with the ability to align content initiatives with business and audience value.
* Tertiary qualifications in Digital Media, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated alignment with organisational values, with strengths in managing ambiguity, focusing on members, and role‐modeling behaviour‐based leadership.
