The role
Introduction

All Saints' College Maitland is seeking a Temporary Part‐Time (6 hours per week) TAS Assistant to join the team in 2025 for 12 months on Wednesdays. All Saints' College is a coeducational year 7‐12 Catholic school that is part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system of schools. With approximately 1,200 students and 185 staff learning and working across two campuses, it is the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic schools in the state. The Junior Campus caters for years 7‐10 and the Senior Campus for years 11‐12. Following the Diocese's decision in 2021, the College will transition to a single campus in the coming years. All Saints' College is deeply rooted in the local parish community and values a robust Catholic tradition that nurtures students within a caring, supportive Christian environment.

Position Description

The TAS Assistant will provide direct support and assistance to the Technology Teachers and contribute to the maintenance and development of a safe TAS and Workshop workplace. The role is part of a team and works closely with, and takes direction from, the TAS Leader of Learning and members of the School Leadership Team.

Skills and Experience

Experience / Criteria

  • Clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and communicate to school staff, students and the community.
  • Sound understanding of WH&S standards and requirements, including maintaining records such as Chemical Safety Records.
  • Capability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Experience in workshop maintenance in a school setting or equivalent.
  • Capacity to maintain machinery and tools in the school TAS workshops.
  • Capacity to undertake inventory management and ordering systems in a school setting or equivalent.
  • Ability to plan and organise production sequences to ensure workshop efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications in building and/or carpentry or relevant experience.
  • Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
  • Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy – Category A.
Conditions of Employment

Salary is in accordance with the New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
