Job Description: Cellar Manager at Dandelion Vineyards
Dandelion Vineyards is a unique fusion of vineyards and vignerons, representing decades of experience in artisan winemaking. Our vineyards, located across South Australia including Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Fleurieu Peninsula, and McLaren Vale, are meticulously selected to ensure the highest quality grapes with minimal intervention.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Cellar Manager to join our winery team. Reporting to the winemaking team, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Providing a vital link between the winemaking and cellar teams
2. Managing daily cellar operations during and outside of vintage
3. Ensuring the quality of our diverse and high-quality wine portfolio through strict standards
4. Maintaining winery equipment and liaising with contractors
5. Managing stock of additives and chemicals
6. Training and supervising vintage cellarhands
7. Organizing and recording oak usage
8. Upholding safety standards
9. Cleaning and sanitizing all winery equipment and vessels
10. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, cleaning, and quality control
Requirements:
* 5+ years of cellar/vintage experience
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* High attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Keen interest in wine and winemaking
* Capacity to work extended hours during vintage
