JKaur Global Group t/a The Indian Royal Flavours is a renowned Indian restaurant located in the heart of Townsville, QLD. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team and bring their expertise in Indian cuisine to our kitchen.
As a Chef at The Indian Royal Flavours, you will be responsible for creating and preparing authentic Indian dishes that will delight our customers. You will work closely with our team to ensure the highest quality of food is consistently served to our guests.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, and biryanis, according to traditional recipes and standards
* Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely and efficient manner
* Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
* Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they are following recipes and maintaining quality standards
* Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials
* Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes by regularly tasting and adjusting seasonings as needed
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including portion control and waste management
* Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu items
* Assist with catering events and large orders as needed
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef specialising in Indian cuisine
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery equivalent qualification preferred
* Knowledge of Indian regional cuisine and cooking techniques
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
