Due to our sustained organisational growth, we are currently seeking an early career spatial analyst to join our Biodiversity Team.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the delivery of projects using remote sensing and other spatial analysis techniques
* Work within a broad, interdisciplinary team to assist in delivering products such as remote sensing assessments, habitat mapping and modelling, and other technical spatial services as required
* Assist in interpreting remote sensing and other geospatial outputs in an environmental context and provide inputs into reports.
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience in remote sensing
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Remote Sensing / GIS / Spatial Sciences / Surveying
* A multi-disciplinary approach to collaboration, and flexibility/willingness to work across multiple sectors
* Exceptional teamwork and relationship building skills
* Ability to thrive in fast paced consulting environment
Mandatory Requirements
* Demonstrated commercial experience in optical remote sensing analysis and interpretation for environmental applications
* High level of proficiency using the ESRI ArcPro
* Proficiency with QGIS
* A background in environmental sciences and/or ecology
* Strong report writing skills
Desired
* Preferred location for position is Brisbane, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate
* Experience with both active and passive remote sensing approaches
* Experience mapping and monitoring vegetation using remote sensing at various spatial scales
* Experience with ArcGIS Online and Field Maps
* Professional experience working in carbon sequestration, mine rehabilitation, approvals, and/or renewables
* Exposure to Python and/or R for analysis and process automation
