Building Maintenance Specialist
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on various building and maintenance projects for council facilities, ensuring community spaces are safe, functional, and well-maintained. As a Building Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on council buildings, facilities, and infrastructure.
About the Role
* Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks on council assets to prevent deterioration and extend their lifespan;
* Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty equipment, fixtures, and fittings to ensure minimal disruption to services;
* Perform skilled work including carpentry, minor construction, and general building upkeep;
* Inspect assets and record results to ensure compliance with council standards;
* Manage tools, equipment, and materials securely and report any issues;
* Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices when required;
* Fully comply with WHS requirements and council safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment;
* Complete job records and manage purchasing for materials and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A trade certificate in a relevant field (bonus points for advanced qualifications);
* An MR driver's license; and
* A reliable and safety-conscious attitude.
