About the Role
We're looking for an experienced
Estimator
to join a well-established commercial builder delivering projects across fitout, refurbishment, and new build sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong understanding of the local market, subcontractor relationships, and a passion for collaboration and quality.
You'll play a key role in the pre-construction team, producing accurate cost plans and tenders while mentoring junior estimators and contributing to the company's continued success.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for commercial fitouts and new builds.
* Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure accurate pricing.
* Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
* Identify value engineering opportunities and assist with project budgeting.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
* Provide guidance and mentoring to junior estimators.
* Collaborate closely with project and design teams to ensure alignment across all project stages.
What We're Looking For
* 3–5 years' estimating experience within the
commercial fitout and/or new build
space (Tier 3 builder experience ideal).
* Strong local industry knowledge and established subcontractor relationships.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – confident speaking with clients and trades.
* A team player who enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge.
* Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and time management skills.
