About the Role
The Senior Travel Assistant is the team lead of the Australia Mission-wide travel support team. Major duties and responsibilities for this position include:
* Contracting Officer Representative
* Travel Policy and Operations
* VIP Visit Support
The job holder is a Federal Acquisition Certified Contracting Officer Representative for the regional travel management center contract, which provides service to all of Mission Australia and several regional posts. The job holder performs contract administration duties as assigned by the contracting offer - this includes assisting the contracting officer in contract development and the solicitation process as well as administration of the contract afterward, and assuring, through close liaison with the contractor, that the contractor accomplishes the technical and financial components of the contracts.
Beyond COR responsibilities, the job holder manages Mission-wide travel operations and policy, organizes training, negotiates pricing agreements with hotels, and provides Mission-wide travel and visit support to customer agencies.
The job holder also serves as the COR and hotel coordinator for VIP visit logistics and event support.
Skills and Experience
* Three (3) years of experience in a government or administrative job managing technical projects to include writing requirements, helping with contracts, monitoring contractor work, supporting or overseeing contracts, helping customers, solving problems, and/or guiding staff is required.
* Two years of college or university studies in general coursework is required.
* Must have a current and valid driver's license.
