Back Plains State School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to support the Prep to Year 2 classroom each Friday.
The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to assist in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities, support individual student needs, including those with disabilities, and help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, making this role ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, demonstrates initiative, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
This position is offered on a temporary, part-time basis at 0.17 FTE (13 hours per fortnight) until 19 September 2025, unless otherwise determined.

Your Opportunity
As The Teacher Aide, You Will
* Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.
The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.
Your Responsibilities
As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
* Working with small groups as well as individual students
* Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
* Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs
* Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
* Assist with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources
* Assist in preparing, storing, distributing and clearing away teaching equipment and materials
* Contribute to the welfare, health and safety of students, including the delivery of first aid
