Technical Illustrator | Hunter Class Frigate Program
We are seeking a Technical Publications Illustrator to join our Hunter Class Frigate program on a permanent full-time basis. The positions can be offered in Melbourne, VIC or Adelaide, SA.
About the Opportunity
You will drive innovative technical publication solutions by contributing to technical illustrating activities in accordance with relevant project procedures and work instructions, achieving project technical, schedule, and cost goals. You will work with a team of Tech Pub Authors, Illustrators, and Multi-Media experts.
* Produce technical illustrations ensuring product meets all requirements, including safety and regulatory requirements of the project.
* Undertake all assigned technical illustrating activities in accordance with identified project directives and standards.
* Develop technical documentation in accordance with appropriate standards.
* Contribute to project plans relating to illustration management, production, and validation activities.
* Utilise illustration tools effectively to undertake illustration development and verification activities.
* Using HCFP engineering models to develop model-based illustrations.
About You
- Diploma or formal qualification in Technical Illustrating / Graphic Design / Drafting or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in Technical Illustrating Services and software: CorelDraw / Adobe Illustrator etc.
- Technical Illustration development from a 3D environment, with the ability to obtain the correct views and explodes from a 3D environment, then develop a 2D illustration from the result.
- Ability to understand, communicate effectively with, and influence colleagues within and outside the immediate team to implement business requirements.
- Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality, and cost.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of illustration and publishing tools.
