Job Description:
The Chemical and Analytical Services team requires a Technical Officer to support teaching laboratories, chemical analytical facilities, and chemical lifecycle management. This role involves maintaining specialist plant and equipment, providing high quality technical support, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Wellbeing requirements.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of Work Health and Safety management, analytical equipment operation, safe working practices, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and upkeep specialist plant and equipment including chromatography, particle sizing, X-Ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis.
* Provide high quality technical support and advice to students, academic, and research staff on chemical engineering principles and applications.
* Evaluate and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HSW requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through professional communication.
Requirements:
* Degree in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety management principles and practices.
* Familiarity with analytical equipment operation and maintenance.
