Based in Townsville, Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a growing business at the forefront of the Maritime Industry in Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. With over 180 employees working across the Maritime, Dive & Construction industries, PMG prides itself on its ability to deliver high quality outcomes for varied and complex projects in regional and remote areas.
Reporting to the Construction Operations Manager, PMG is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to take the lead on a marine construction project, based off the coastal region of NSW. This is a fixed term position, for approximately 12 months, with the potential for ongoing, permanent work.
The successful candidate will be required to reside in Townsville for up to 6 months, before transitioning to the project site on a rotating roster for the following 6 months. Assistance with accommodation in Townsville may be available for the right candidate, as will flexibility with rosters over that period.
As the Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in the preparation of both the methodology, budgets & documentation associated with project delivery
* Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external clients & team members
* Ensuring efficient and effective procurement in line with project requirements
* Overseeing contract administration & associated documentation and processes
* Providing technical advice & leadership across the project during preparation, delivery & post project periods, to ensure the project is undertaken in line with contractual requirements and to an acceptable business standard.
* Developing a safe and environmentally appropriate workplace, in line with company & client requirements
* Managing budget & cost estimates and reviews throughout the project, providing recommendations & improvement opportunities
With responsibility for the planning, coordination and control of the project, you will work with our internal teams as well as our clients to ensure we continue to deliver a high-quality project outcome, in line with contractual objectives and project scope.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge & experience:
* Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or Project Management (mandatory).
* Experience in Marine contracting, piling or concrete pre-cast (Highly Desirable)
* Strong background in project management with a high logistics or support services component.
* Experience leading and managing multi – disciplined project work.
* Tender management or experience (Desirable).
* A confident communicator with outstanding time management and organisational skills.
* Approach focused on the safety and quality of work being completed.
