is a much loved retail brand with a strong track record of delivering innovative, high-quality products to customers across Australia. With a focus on Private Label and Exclusive brands as a key growth driver, they have created a new role of Category Development Manager to join them.
The Role
reports to the Head of Merchandise, and is accountable for discovering new Private Label and Exclusive product opportunities across a diverse category range from food to general merchandise. Sitting between Product Development and Category Managers, the role is about spotting the next big trends, selling in concepts, and working with cross-functional teams to create and deliver a strong customer offering. You'll lead the process of analysing market trends and customer insights, and product innovations to bring concepts to life and shape the private label range of the future - this is is a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and execution of Private Label growth, blending creativity with commercial impact.
We are looking for
a Category Manager, Senior Buyer or Product Development Manager with extensive experience in private/own label and preferably with exposure to category development of food, treats, consumables or other fast-moving categories. You'll have a sharp commercial head, strong financial acumen, and proven ability to influence, negotiate and being naturally curious and creative, you'll be skilled at identifying trends, telling the product story, and bringing concepts to life. Pragmatic yet innovative, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be confident managing projects from concept through to ELT approval. Above all, you'll bring the passion, accountability, and drive to deliver products that customers love.
