Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital employing over 1,000 staff. It is the main acute care hospital for the region, providing emergency, medical, surgical, and orthopaedic services. The hospital features an Intensive Care Unit, Children's Ward, Maternity Unit, a regional Cancer Care Centre, and a Mental Health Unit. It is currently undergoing a $438 million redevelopment.
What You'll Be Doing
To provide effective, timely, and safe medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in paediatric medical practice in a complex clinical environment. The SRMO will assess and manage the care of infants and children in various units, including Neonatal, Children's Ward, Paediatric Assessment, and Emergency Department, under supervision. During all working hours, a more senior doctor will be available onsite for assistance.
This position is particularly suited to trainees planning a career in General Practice or Paediatrics.
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* At least two years of postgraduate experience
* Effective communication, clinical, judgment, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management
* Experience and willingness to participate in clinical governance activities
* High-level verbal and written communication skills
