**_This is a permanent part-time opportunity of 30.40 hours per week in the local government area of Parramatta_**
- **SCHADS Level 3.1 $37.35 per hour with salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 per year plus penalty rates, sleep over allowance, and 11.5% superannuation.**:

- **Four (4) shifts per week / 8 hours per shift **_e.g. mostly 3:30pm to 11:30pm and 3:30pm to 11:30pm with an inactive sleepover_** until 7:30am**

**Roster**
Our service operates from 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This opportunity is a four-week rotating roster that requires flexibility including afternoon shifts, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Specialist Homelessness Services SHS Youth of Uniting provides crisis supported accommodation with case management, for people aged 16-24 years old, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our services provide 24/7 onsite support and assistance with education, employment, referral into counselling services, health services, living skills and parenting programs.

**About the Role**

The Youth Worker is responsible for assisting clients to access safe, affordable and stable accommodation. This includes providing holistic support and advise from intake to exit. The Youth worker will also offer referral to medical services. You will assist in enabling clients to overcome barriers which have contributed to their homelessness or risk of homelessness.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Advocate for client choice and independence.
- Monitoring and review of case plans with the case manager
- Assist with intake and assessment of clients as well as maintaining report or clients' files
- Maintain high standards of conduct and performance.
- Ensure seamless service delivery and coordinate communication.
- Actively engage in team meetings, performance management and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to Uniting's values, policies, and procedures.
- Promote a safe and inclusive working environment.
- Transport of clients when required.

**Qualifications**:

- **_Certificate IV (or actively working towards) _**in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, or a relevant field.
- First Aid Certificate
- Driver's License

**Experience**:

- 2+ years of experience in youth work or within the homelessness support sector, home refuge or similar.
- Experience working with vulnerable young people or relevant to the service.
- Knowledge of best practices for Specialist Homelessness funded Services.
- Computer skills for timely and accurate client information.
