Overview
Raytheon Australia is seeking a bright and energized Systems Engineer for the Projects Integrated Project Team. This hybrid role supports the development and integration of Submarine Combat Systems with a focus on innovation and technology integration.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat System.
* Lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
* Generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications.
* Provide engineering support to transition products into service.
* Conduct technical risk analysis and lead junior engineers to facilitate documentation and execution of verification and validation activities.
* Run major reviews throughout the project lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews, and test readiness reviews.
* Mentor junior team members in systems engineering methodology, tools, and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline and eligible to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing with a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in Systems Engineering involving requirements definition, management, analysis, design, integration and verification across one or more fields such as Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Communication, Software, or Combat/RF Systems.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels.
* Knowledge of project management milestones and capacity to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments.
* Availability to undertake travel as required.
* Eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.
* Desirable: Experience within Defence or a highly regulated industry.
* Experience with Microsoft and Atlassian tool suites (Teams, JIRA, Confluence).
* Experience with scientific or engineering documentation and test engineering processes and procedures.
* Experience with Linux operating systems, networking and technical problem solving.
