Latrobe City is in the middle of a major industry shift, and this role sits right where change is happening. We're looking for someone with real industry insight who wants to work alongside businesses, training providers, and sector leaders to help build the region's next wave of opportunity.
This is not a policy role. It's a hands‐on, relationship‐driven position focused on unlocking growth, supporting transition, and getting practical outcomes on the ground.
About the Role
* Use your strategic prowess to identify and leverage new opportunities that will transition the region's economy.
* Be an integral player in the delivery of our Economic Development Strategy.
* Collaborate with existing industry and manufacturing employers, emerging sectors and education providers to support industry growth and transition.
* Contribute to initiatives that help industry adapt, grow, and future‐proof the region.
* Manage key projects and activities that focus on industry support and economic transition across our region.
* Represent Council in industry forums and build trusted relationships with industry leaders, training providers, and regional partners.
About You
* Experience with engaging with industry and related stakeholders.
* Proven experience in developing and maintaining a network.
* A good understanding of the issues impacting on regional Victoria.
* A collaborative and proactive approach, contributing to a positive team culture.
You will have
* A relevant tertiary qualification or alternatively relevant experience, preferably in economic development or business development.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an ability to learn other programs including electronic document management systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of economic development concepts.
* Ability to ensure projects and activities are achieved and deliver the desired outcomes.
