An exciting opportunity to join Tweed Shire Council in this newly created position of Technical Officer Meter Reading and Maintenance.
**About the role**:
- manage the reading, maintenance and replacement of Council's water meter and metered standpipe fleets to ensure accurate, timely and efficient customer water billing
- provide leadership of the meter reading team, including technical support and advice
- lead and investigate water consumption irregularities and faults and implement corrective action.

- **We are seeking**:
- certificate level qualifications or above in a related technical field, or extensive experience relevant to the role
- demonstrated working knowledge of how water meters and metered standpipes work, water billing and relevant government regulation
- exceptional customer service skills and high-level verbal and written communication skills.
