About the role
Drake Medox is seeking fun, enthusiastic and hard‐working support workers within the Burwood area. Our client, living at home with a Spinal Cord Injury – C4 Quadriplegic, is seeking support workers to join their dynamic team on an on‐going basis. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in our client's life, as well as enhance your skills and knowledge with ongoing client‐specific training.
Our client is seeking someone who has a genuine love of gardening with previous spinal injuries experience; you must have excellent communication and engagement skills. The right candidate will be flexible and available to work every Mon‐Wed, 7:30‐3:00PM and from Wed‐Sat, 3:00‐8:00 or 9:00PM with any more available shifts as backup and on weekends.
Your key responsibilities
* Personal care
* Medication administration
* Domestic assistance
* Bowel Care management
* Full supervision of the client
* Pressure area management
* Work with the client and assist with personal care and manual handling
* Assisting and supporting the client in the home and out in the community
About you
* Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
* Minimum Cert III in Disability or other relevant qualifications
* Manual handling experience (essential)Current accredited First aid and CPR
* Yellow card/NDIS Screening Card
* Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Right to live and work within Australia
* Valid Australian Driver's License
* NDIS worker screener check
