Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering optimised and scalable SQL solutions, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to provide technical leadership within a dynamic, Agile environment. You will be responsible for the quality, performance, and functionality of SQL-based solutions that support critical business operations and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
* Work closely with the data modelling team to support operational and analytical database needs.
* Implement performance tuning strategies and scalable database architectures for large-scale datasets.
* Develop and manage ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
* Oversee deployments through Microsoft DevOps and manage CI/CD pipelines.
* Conduct code reviews, maintain source control using Git, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
* Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and security.
* Contribute to Agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous feedback cycles.
Required Experience & Skills:
* 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer.
* Advanced proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSM, Microsoft DevOps, CI/CD tools, Git.
* In-depth understanding of Database architecture and data warehousing, indexing, query optimisation, and performance tuning
* Experience working with large and complex datasets.
* Skilled in data modelling concepts and collaborating with data architecture teams.
* Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
* Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
* Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and deployment best practices.
Desirable Experience:
* Exposure to data analytics or data science initiatives.
* Hands-on experience with exploratory data analysis and data insights generation.
* Previous collaboration within cross-functional teams including business analysts and data modellers.
