As the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove.

As Executive Assistant Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the resort, driving strong financial performance, developing high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with our luxury brand standards. Acting as the second-in-command to the General Manager, you will step in to lead the hotel in their absence.

Your Day to Day

In this role, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring the right people are in place to deliver seamless service. A strong focus will be on developing your team through coaching, regular feedback, and clear performance goals, while recognising and celebrating success. You will ensure all colleagues are trained, compliant, and equipped to meet InterContinental brand standards.

Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with all departments to ensure smooth operations and a consistent guest experience. You will also take an active role in managing guest feedback, resolving concerns, and building relationships that support continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.

From a commercial perspective, you will support the General Manager with budgeting, forecasting, and the delivery of financial and operational plans. You will monitor costs, manage labour productivity, and ensure payroll efficiency through effective planning. Using guest insights and performance data, you will implement strategies to drive results while maintaining exceptional luxury service standards.

What We're Looking For

* A well-rounded leader with strong experience in Rooms Division; exposure to other hotel departments is advantageous but not essential
* Proven ability to lead, develop, and engage high-performing teams
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of financial performance, revenue drivers, and business outcomes
* Experience with hotel systems such as Opera or Infrasys
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in hotel or business management
* Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays
* Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices
* Current certifications such as Responsible Management of Licenced Venues (RMLV), First Aid, and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
* Thrives in fast-paced environments, remaining calm under pressure
* Confident decision-maker, able to respond effectively in challenging situations
* Leadership style that fosters a positive, productive, and compliant workplace culture
