Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community-controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 5 remote Aboriginal communities across the region and being the lead agency for headspace Broome, WA since 2008.
KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible, comprehensive primary health care services over its 34 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in Aboriginal Health.

The Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) team is on the lookout for multiple passionate, community-minded healthcare workers and leaders to join the team based in the Kutjungka region, Western Australia (Balgo, Mulan, Billiluna). We're after:
- Health Centre Managers who are ready to step into a broader leadership role across our vibrant, remote clinics
This is your chance to bring your experience to a place where healthcare is more than a job. Both roles are on a6-week-on, 3-weeks-off FIFO rotation. We'll provide accommodation while you're in the community, and give you time and space to recharge between swings.
You'll join a friendly, multidisciplinary team that delivers culturally secure primary health care to remote Aboriginal communities, while surrounded by one of Australia's most spectacular landscapes.

The Health Centre Coordinator supports daily operations by managing staff allocation, patient flow, equipment checks, and team communication. In the Manager's absence, the role extends to broader leadership responsibilities, including budgets, meetings, and workforce coordination. When the Manager is present, the Coordinator focuses more on patient care while assisting with service delivery, reporting, and staff support, ensuring continuity and culturally safe, responsive services.

When the Manager is present, the Coordinator focuses more on patient care while assisting with service delivery, reporting, and staff support, ensuring continuity and culturally safe, responsive services.
The Health Centre Manager oversees daily operations and delivery of primary health care, leading a multidisciplinary team while managing budgets, workforce needs, and quality standards. The role combines management with clinical care, including on-call duties and emergency services. Working with community stakeholders, the Manager drives quality improvement, workforce development, and culturally safe care to ensure services meet local health priorities.
Please note: The Health Centre Coordinator will also step into the Acting Health Centre Manager role during periods of leave, giving you the chance to build leadership experience.
Who are we looking for?
If you're a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner with AHPRA registration and demonstrated experienceworking in remote or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, we want to hear from you.
We're after people who are:
- Comfortable juggling clinical care with team support and operational leadership
- Passionate about delivering culturally safe, holistic care
- Qualified with REC, ALS, or Immunisation Provider WA credentials
- Strong communicators who can build great relationships in community settings
- Confident navigating the world of rosters, reporting, and health planning
- Happy to travel via 4WD and light aircraft (don't worry - we'll train you if needed)
While not essential, the following will be a bonus:
- A post-grad qualification in health management (especially helpful if you're applying for the Manager role)
- Experience using MMEx or similar electronic patient record systems
- Emergency care credentials like Triage Emergency Care

Earn a starting salary of $130,221 as a Health Centre Coordinator, or step into the Manager role from $138,590, along with a host of benefits including:.
- 25% availability allowance on top of base salary
- District allowance: $2,740 per annum
- Retention allowance of $10,000 after 2 years of continuous service (and every 12 months thereafter)
- Annual airfare subsidy of $1,285 after 12 months of service
