The role is a Category Manager in Buying, oversee marketing and sales strategies and coordinate with suppliers, purchases, and other departments to gather information regarding market and sales trends and work to identify the needs of customers. Reporting to the Head of Merchandise.
**Your key duties and responsibilities**
- Analyse competitors' marketing, selection and pricing and make strategic changes
- Develop and implement category strategy to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Build profitable relationships with existing suppliers and execute negotiations to secure the best pricing, sales programs, and promotional support
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders both Internal and External (Marketing, Sales, Logistics)
- Maintain industry expertise; keep tabs on trends and new product ideas
- Maintain and organize product data including key specifications, marketing support material, and competitive comparisons.
- Understand and maintain GANTT charts for Category Review Timelines
- Financial Category acumen leading up to budget planning/forecasting for new FY
- Managing a team of 1 skilled Category Assistants
**Skillset and Experience**
- Minimum of 3 years of Product Category management or marketing experience
- Strong knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Position ownership/Team leadership
- Experience with General Merchandise/indent product is highly desirable
- 'Seasonal' range building and event 'end to end' category management also highly desirable
- Overseas supplier Liaison/Management
- Working with Range/Product Launch deadlines
