About the Business Unit:
The Recruitment Services branch within People, Safety, Culture and Communications provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the department's vision for a justice and community safety system that works together to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, cutting-edge, fair, and ethical recruitment solutions.
About the Role:
The Security and Safety Officer is part of the Recruitment Operations team and provides administrative and customer service support to hiring managers, candidates, and other stakeholders on a wide range of security and safety screening related matters.
Some of your duties will include:
* Coordinating the processing of criminal history and other relevant pre-employment checks of prospective employees for high-risk roles, including coordinating the Victoria Police fingerprinting process for candidates requiring a National Police Certificate, explaining the pre-employment security check process to hiring managers and candidates and conducting follow up calls with candidates to obtain additional information as required\
* Providing high-quality customer service and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders on a range of security and safety related matters
* Responding efficiently to enquiries received via the phone, electronically or in writing in a professional, courteous manner.

About You:

* Experience in providing administrative support and customer service, ideally within a large or complex organisation, and in working with sensitive and confidential information
* Experience in the use of e-recruitment systems to advertise vacancies and manage candidates, and in providing advice on HR policies and processes
* The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with high volume processing activity.
