Your new role
We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant (medication endorsed) to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our Mclean Lodge on a Part Time Basis for 14 shifts per fortnight. The shifts will be allocated to multiple successful candidates based on availability allowing for a flexibility.
The fortnightly roster to be split across successful candidates will be as below:
Week 1: Monday to Sunday (22:30 – 07:30)
Week 2: Monday to Sunday (22:30 – 07:30)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
* Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
* Observing and reporting changes in resident's behaviour or physical condition
* Undertaking medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
* Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
* Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
* Providing emotional support to residents.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
* Ability to work both in team and autonomously
* Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
* Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
* Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
* Keen eye for detail
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
* A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
