About the Role
This is a dynamic and challenging role as a Senior Finance Professional with our client in Canberra. You will be part of a collaborative team that delivers high-impact work to government clients, helping them make informed decisions about funding allocation and financial management.
The successful candidate will have prior experience consulting into government, a relevant degree in finance or accounting, and strong analytical skills. They will also have the ability to interpret financial data and drive insights and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising and supporting finance teams on accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, risk controls, and issue remediation
* Driving better financial outcomes through cost modelling, funding sustainability reviews, forecasting, business case evaluation, and commercial assurance
* Improving finance and corporate functions by redesigning operating models, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting digitisation and automation
* Enabling transformation and ERP delivery by contributing to finance transformation strategies, ERP implementation support, and contract optimisation during cloud transitions
* Building strong client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor, delivering timely financial insights, and proactively identifying opportunities to add value
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Prior experience consulting into government
* A relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to drive insights and decision-making
* Experience in one or more of the following: cost modelling, management accounting, or financial accounting
