Job Description
The Job Role We are looking for experienced Metal Machinists and Metal Polishers to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry. Metal Machinists
* All-rounder Metal Machinist
* Operate, set & program our CNC Milling Machine & CNC Lathes
* You will be provided with engineering drawings &, either through altering existing programs, or, by writing new programs
* You will be expected to complete the manufacture of parts to comply with exacting customer requirements
Metal Polishers
* Polishing of stainless-steel metal components to clean finishes;
* Operate within safety guidelines and any operating procedures;
* Liaise with Production Manager to ensure jobs are completed on time;
* Clean and maintain work area and equipment;
* Grinding, Deburring;
* Polishing out weld seams.
Qualifications & Requirements
* CNC Machinist Trade background but experienced welders encouraged to apply
* We require someone who is versatile, reliable & motivated
* A keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude
* Willingness to gain knowledge & skills as well as an understanding of production is highly desirable
* Relevant trade qualifications
* At least 3 years experience
* Strong CAM skills
* Strong Machining skills
* Strong understanding of tooling applications
* An ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team environment
* High standard of safety awareness & culture
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually About The Company Carta & Co Pty Ltd is the largest Australian manufacturer of Cane Transporters for the Australian Sugar Cane Industry. Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering is a small, locally owned company based in Ingham, with workshops in Townsville & Ingham that provides engineering, drafting, fabrication, fitting, machining, blasting & painting services. We also repair damaged transporters and fabricate spare parts and other agricultural equipment.
