Overview
Westgold Resources is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to lead the safe and efficient extraction of gold at our underground Beta Hunt Operations. This role will lead a team of junior Mining Engineers to develop and deliver safe, efficient production plans covering drilling, charging and remote bogging activities. This role will be based at Beta Hunt Mine - Kambalda and offered on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
The Beta Hunt Mine is owner-operated using conventional underground mining methods. The mine is ramping production rates to 2Mtpa with increased mined material transported through a newly constructed second decline.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise and implement weekly drill and blast activities with a focus on operational excellence
- Schedule, own, plan and manage the 3MS process using Deswik IS
- Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of drill and blast standards to optimize recovery and minimize dilutions
- Promote a high-performance culture by actively coaching, engaging with and providing feedback to Production and Graduate Engineers
- Assist the Mining Manager/Alternate with a range of operational and technical tasks, including fulfilling statutory responsibilities when required
- Support daily underground operations and contribute to achieving production targets through sound engineering practices
Qualifications
- Strong level in mining software (Deswik IS, Deswik CAD, Deswik UDGM, VEntsim) and Microsoft tools to support Production and reporting
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to take a strategic approach to the continuous improvement of services to achieve the best outcomes for the organization
- Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class C Driver's License
- National Police Clearance - 12 month validity
