About the Role
The Department of Nursing are seeking a dedicated professional to join the team and play a pivotal role in enhancing the inclusion, quality, and delivery of Nursing education and research at Swinburne. This position is an identified role that seeks to attract passionate and talented Indigenous nurses to academic spaces, recognising the richness their cultural knowledge and community connections bring to teaching and research.
You will collaborate with and be supported by the Professor of Nursing, a proud Wiradjuri woman with extensive clinical and leadership experience and academic colleagues across the Department, School, and health sector. In this role, you will contribute to embedding Indigenous knowledges, person-centred practice and technology/innovation throughout the nursing and healthcare curriculum and will directly impact the development and review of the Bachelor of Nursing, utilising blended models of unit delivery and fostering an inclusive and engaging academic community.
You will be supported in higher degree research studies and mentored to develop your academic career. You will also engage in research activities aligned with the School of Health Sciences’ and Department of Nursing’s strategic direction, focusing on areas including Indigenous knowledges, person-centred practice and technology.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
* A willingness to complete a teaching/education qualification.
* Demonstrated clinical experience in Nursing.
* A high degree of organisational and administrative skills with capacity to contribute to leadership of course and program delivery.
* Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.
* A capacity to contribute to research teams and partnerships and in practice research supervision to achieve high impact research outcomes is preferred.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in Nursing and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
* At least one AQF qualification level higher than the unit of study being taught or supervised (minimum AQF 8 for the Bachelor of Nursing).
* A PhD/Doctorate qualification appropriate to the Discipline/equivalent experience is highly desirable, or a demonstrated willingness to actively engage in Higher Degree Research (HDR) studies.
