We’re working with a Council west of Melbourne to recruit a Senior Designer (Landscape Architect or Urban Designer) for a 12-month contract, covering long service leave from June 2025 to June 2026.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team responsible for delivering concept plans and early-stage design for a wide range of public realm and infrastructure projects - including streetscapes, bike paths, trails, and greening initiatives.
This is a great opportunity to shape community spaces and contribute to meaningful, people-focused design outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the design process from site analysis through to concept development and costing
* Create high-quality visuals for stakeholder engagement and community consultation
* Prepare design briefs, reports, and cost estimates
* Support detailed documentation for tender and construction as required
* Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
* Provide input across a variety of capital works and open space projects
What we’re looking for:
* Qualification in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Civil Design or similar
* Experience working on public realm or local government projects
* Ability to produce strong design concepts and clear visual presentations
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
* Understanding of landscape construction, plant selection, and site supervision
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with community engagement is highly regarded
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks concurrently
