This is a key leadership role with responsibility for software delivery, maintenance, team development, and strategic project execution. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, this is a permanent full-time role to be based in Sydney, with the possibility of combined home/office-based arrangements to achieve flexible work-life balance.
* Lead, manage, and mentor engineering teams and offshore partners
* Oversee software development, maintenance, and Tier 3 production support when needed
* Analyze customer and system issues, ensuring achievement of service level agreements
* Partner with Product and Project teams to align tech strategy with business goals
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation in coding standards and deployment practices
* Provide clear progress reporting to senior management
* Contribute to strategic decisions, resource planning, and budgeting
Requirements:
* 10+ years in software development, including 2+ years in a leadership role
* Strong technical background in Java, SQL, .Net, C++, Cloud technologies, or similar
* Expertise in Agile SDLC and modern development practices
* Proven experience managing offshore teams and working across time zones
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
