Transport Emergency Responder - Roma area in QLD
ISS First Response is a leading national Transport Emergency Response service provider, currently seeking Casual "On Call" Emergency Response Coordinators (ERC's) in Roma area, QLD.
We have over 60 ERC's nationally, offering a monthly retainer, call out fees and hourly rates, plus required assessment and safety procedures, manuals, PPE and training.
It is NOT a medical responder role.
The role of the ISS Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) is to represent our clients and manage their people, assets and cargo interests at incident scenes.
Clients include transport, logistics and dangerous goods carriers, so the ERC will manage the cleanup of incidents.
The position is varied in the type of work required and has the full support of our 24/7 Call Centre & Head Office resources.
The Call Centre coordinates contractor services, regulatory reporting and liaison between the incident site and clients.
The ideal candidate has experience in Transport Incident Response, former emergency services personnel including police or fire service members, or applicants with transport or towing experience.
Responsibilities
Attend incidents quickly and work with the ISS Call Centre to assess hazards, request and coordinate resources for salvage, security, protection and transportation/disposal of accident-affected freight.
Attend to the welfare of distressed drivers (but not administer first aid unless qualified) and assist emergency service personnel if requested.
Maintain contact with all stakeholders (ISS Call Centre, clients, other response personnel & relevant authorities) and provide verbal and written progress reports.
Read, write, accurately articulate and record incident details, including photography and compiling accurate and timely reports.
Be computer competent: use Microsoft Outlook & Word, upload or transfer photographs and learn in-house applications.
Aware of cost containment in conducting emergency response exercises.
Assist in ongoing site remediation services in consultation with environmental experts and authorities.
Keep the ISS Call Centre regularly updated of all developments for entry into the Incident Log.
As a Casual "On Call" position, applicants must be flexible, energetic, professional and disciplined, and promote an inclusive team environment for safe, transparent and professional response.
The successful candidate must have their own reliable vehicle, be physically fit, able to climb under/over obstacles and carry/move equipment within OH&S/WHS guidelines.
