Learn more about Brisbane Catholic Education.About Our TeamThe Student Protection Team works in partnership with staff across BCE to build student protection capability, embed, and advance safe and supportive learning environments for students. The team provides strategic and operational advice and support, develops training solutions and resources, and reviews and monitors student protection systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations. The team also facilitates student participation in creating and strengthening safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments through the BCE Student Voice Program.SummaryShowcase your ability as the Senior Student Protection Advisor, driving organisational change through process improvements. Reporting to the Manager – Professional Standards and Student Protection and working under the direction of the Senior Advisor, this role is pivotal in supporting school communities to uphold the safety and wellbeing of students. You will provide expert advice, consultancy, and capacity-building support to school leaders and staff across our network.Location: BCE Office - WoolloongabbaWork hours: Full-time | Flexible working arrangements availableSalary: $133,553 - $148,385 plus superStatus: Fixed Term | June - October 2025Ad Close Date: 23 June 2025Contact us: CareersBCE@bne.catholic.edu.auAbout The OpportunityIn this position you will be responsible for:Providing student protection advice and support to Senior Leaders – School Progress and Performance, Principals, Student Protection Contacts, and school staff.Building capacity of school leadership teams, Student Protection Contacts, and Guidance Counsellors to respond to and manage student protection matters, including resource development and specialist training delivery.Collaborating with stakeholders to plan and develop preventative and risk management strategies related to student protection.Reviewing practices, policies, processes, and procedures with a student protection lens.Supporting the development of initiatives that empower students to seek support and participate in safeguarding strategies.Assisting Principals, Student Protection Contacts, and staff in managing and reporting protection matters, including delivering training and developing resources.About YouTo be successful, you will have:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing leadership and support in child protection.Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.Understanding of child protection theories and ability to apply them in advice and risk management.Experience in delivering high-quality advice and capacity-building, including coaching, facilitation, and mentoring.Excellent communication skills, capable of addressing emotional responses.Experience in developing resources and delivering training tailored to staff needs.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Tertiary qualifications in social or behavioural sciences such as social work or psychology.Current driver’s license.Eligibility And Safeguarding RequirementsYou must be eligible to work in Australia and hold a Positive Notice Blue Card for working with children.Why choose BCEBenefitsJoin us and enjoy career growth, competitive remuneration, flexible work options, AI tools and training, salary packaging, wellness programs, and support services for employees and families.
