Senior Safety Advisor at Multicultural Consulting Services Our client, a leading organisation delivering essential water and civil infrastructure across Melbourne's eastern region, is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to support a series of capital works projects.
This role forms part of a long-term program responsible for upgrading critical treatment facilities, pipelines, and associated civil assets that serve communities across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
About The Role
You will play a key role in maintaining safe project environments across multiple active sites. Working closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with safety requirements, support investigations, guide best practice, and promote a strong safety culture across all project teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and project-specific requirements
* Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions
* Assist in developing and updating safety procedures, communications, and project safety documentation
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
* Support workers' compensation and injury management processes when required
* Build strong working relationships with site teams and raise safety awareness across all levels
* Maintain safety records, reports, and legislative documentation
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders when required
* Identify opportunities to strengthen existing safety systems, tools, and processes
Requirements
* Degree in WHS, Environmental Science, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
* Diploma of Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
* Safety Lead Auditor qualification
* Strong knowledge of construction safety and relevant legislation
* ICAM Lead Investigator certification
* Valid driver's licence and ability to travel between metro and regional sites
* Experience in major civil, utilities, or infrastructure projects
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and documentation skills
