The Role: Reporting to the Team Leader Technology Infrastructure Solutions you will be responsible for: Being the organisational expert in server software & hardware solutions, maximising return on investment and ensuring all solutions are in line with cybersecurity policies and industry best and emerging practise. Council’s server/system related issues, which includes but may not be limited to the implementation of preventative solutions and the establishment of systems policies that minimise server related risks. Providing expert server/system related technical information, guidance & assistance to other staff members as required. Creating and documenting standardised processes for use by support staff, focusing on the development of automated process and system improvements. Performing a backup role for otherstaff as required Key Responsibility Be the organisational expert in server solutions (physical & virtual), understanding industry trends and cybersecurity requirements for this environment. Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Engineer and Endpoint Solutions Administrator to ensure a cohesive approach to system architectures in areas of scope crossover. Identify trends that will provide productivity, collaboration and gains within the server space. Develop, maintain and execute a roadmap for server solutions for the organisation. Contribute to the review of existing solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose, and planning for new solutions to meet new requirements. Run and manage projects within the scope of the role, ensuring that documentation, engagement and deliverables are of a high standard. Act as an advocate for the customer, with customer experience at the centre of all decisions. Provide exceptional service to customers by delivering a robust IT service and promoting end user self-sufficiency Analyse customer issues, determine causes and initiate corrective actions. Manage problems as defined by ITIL to ensure continuous improvement occurs across all endpoint solutions. Manage vendor relationships to ensure server solutions meet current organisational requirements and plan for future requirements. Maintain the integrity, reliability and security of the application and database infrastructure. Provide technical advice and support to other staff. Maintain appropriate system documentation. Skill & Competencies: A vocational or tertiary qualification in Information Technology and a minimum of 2 years' experience in an ICT System/Server Administration role (or similar) within a Microsoft 365 environment. Demonstrated experience with administration of Microsoft cloud-based services; AAD, Defender, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams Working knowledge of standard services e.g. Active Directory, FSMO, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, MS Windows Licensing, Microsoft ISS (Internet Information Services), Print Server and File Server (SMB Version 2) Demonstrated experience with server virtualisation technologies, with preference for VMWare experience. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a closely-knit team. Strong customer service focus and commitment to quality customer service. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills. Current driver’s license Why join us?
